Dr Martin Turner
Co-Investigator: Dr Martin Turner, Senior Lecturer, Manchester Metropolitan University. Martin is a Senior Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Psychology (Staffordshire University School of Psychology, Sport and Exercise), researcher, author, and Chartered consultant psychologist (BPS, HCPC Reg., CSci).
Martin specialises in human performance under pressure and adversity. He is the lead author of the books What Business Can Learn from Sport Psychology and Tipping the Balance: The Mental Skills Handbook for Athletes.
He is known internationally for his work examining the use of Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT) within performance settings, and the use of psychophysiological testing to measure the human stress response. Martin teaches across undergraduate, Masters, and PhD levels.
In his applied work, he consults with elite sporting and blue-chip business organisations, most notably consulting with Davies Group, SONY, and the FA.
